On Wednesday 10 June, the Heyday community filled Chapters in Salisbury for our first Exposition. Eight expert zones, three short talks, a raffle for Bath & Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and a lot of very good conversations. Thank you for coming.
The idea was simple: put the right experts in one room for one afternoon and ask nothing in return. No sign-ups, no sales pitch. That's exactly how it played out.
From wellbeing, money matters and age-friendly homes to nutrition, keep fit and tech support — all staffed and busy from doors open to doors close.
Alex Redman on later-life money decisions, Karen Lapsley on personal care that keeps you independent, and Freya Strutt on eating well without the fads.
Every penny from the raffle went to Bath & Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, and congratulations to the winners.
People kept telling me the same thing on the way out: "I finally know where to start." That's everything we hoped this afternoon would be. We'll be doing it again.
Members, friends, partners, and the sons and daughters who came along for the ride. Events like this only work when the room is full of good company, and it was.
The specialists who gave their afternoon for honest conversations, with nothing to sell. And our three speakers, Alex, Karen and Freya, for talks people were still discussing in the café corner.
Chapters in Salisbury looked after us brilliantly, and our partners helped us spread the word and fill the zones with genuine expertise.
Coffee mornings, walking groups, talks and meet-ups across the Salisbury area, with new events and members every week. And when the next Exposition is announced, the people on this list will hear about it first.
